Twelve Days of Christmas - Favourite Stagey Event (Day Nine)

The theatre community is vast, with lots of theatre kids coming together to celebrate their favourite shows. With the West End and theatre being so prominent in the UK, it only makes sense to continue the fun off stage with special events to hold on and keep some of that community spirit forever! With new stagey events popping up and growing popularity, it's a wonderful way to share the theatre love!

Here are a few examples of some of these brilliant new stagey events.

West End Live

Photography: Pamela Raith

"Although queuing from 4am wasn't the most fun, with a good fellow theatre kid, it became part of the adventure. As a lover of musical theatre and amateur theatre photographer, West End Live is THE best stagey day out. With West End Classics on display (Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera etc), along with new musicals trying their luck (Your Lie In April, Me & You, Dorian), one is reminded of why they love musical theatre along with finding new favourites!

Roles We'll Never Play (Lyric Theatre)

"It's always wonderful to see so many incredibly talented West End Performers take on their dream roles, and change the game by breaking all barriers. Audiences and performers alike enjoy these variations to their favourite songs. Plus, Mickey Jo hosting it added quite a few informative tidbits to the event."

MickeyJoTheatre: Live

"While for most readers, this might be the annual musical theatre fan convention that we sadly missed out on, myself and Oviya from our team were very lucky to have worked on the media team on MickeyJoTheatre: Live, celebrating up-and-coming performers and composers. 2025 dates are set to be announced soon so do check out our pages @matineemouse and @minnale_photography for exclusive interviews and production photography from the October event!"

West End Flea Market

"It was my first time attending this event, and despite being rainy and crowded, it was thoroughly enjoyable! So many stagey favourites with never-before-seen merch from the actual shows. Looking forward to going again next year!"

Olivier Awards 2024

"This was my first Oliviers and what an incredible day it was. Attending the green carpet, speaking to so many performers who were up for awards, the atmosphere was electric. Once inside seeing so many deserved winners take home awards topped off a day to remember."

Rob Madge’s Regards to Broadway

Photography: Danny Kaan

"After the upsetting postponement of the Broadway transfer of Rob Madge’s one-person show, My Son’s a Queer (But What Can You Do?), back in February this year, Rob decided to deal with their emotions by staging a one day only show in May. It was a huge privilege to share this moment with Rob and the show was an incredible sort-of sequel to My Son’s a Queer!"

National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals

"Seeing musical theatre celebrated by an entire arena of people who share in their love of it was something so special! Getting to see such a wide variety of shows come to Manchester was amazing too!"
